INTELLI-CIRC CONTROLLER, provides owners of an existing hot water circulation system a means to a greener more controlled efficient hot water circulation system. Benefit from advanced green control technology utilizing one or more of the following activation / control styles;

EXISTING PUMP SETUP
Plug existing hot water circulation pump power cord into Intelli-Circ Controller POWER OUT TO PUMP socket.
Set existing hot water circulation pump to ALWAYS ON and MAX TEMP if options exist.
INTELLI-CIRC CONTROLLER SETUP
Set desired temperature to be maintained using the temperature adjustment dial.
Program digital timer to desired operating periods.
Install temperature probe on circulation loop, prefer last load on loop too minimize pump cycles and water heater demand.
Mount on wall using keyhole cutouts on backside of control box.
Using supplied detachable power cord, plug cord into CONTROLLER POWER INLET socket on right side of controller. Plug the other end into a grounded wall socket.
If desired, use phone cord wire (often available at 99 cent stores for 100 ft) extend wires to incorporate push-button / on-demand operations using the phone jack on face of controller.
SCENARIO #1
Bob owns a home which has a closed loop hot water circulation system. The circulation pump is installed at the end of the loop at the water heater and operates around the clock 24 / 7. He has no control of temperature or when the system operates. He travels a lot but is typically home on Tuesdays, Thursday’s and weekends. He wants to have hot water instantly when he’s home but doesn’t want the system to run on days that he’s out.
SOLUTION
Plug the existing circulation pump’s power cord into the INTELLI-CIRC CONTROLLER power outlet control socket on the right side of the controller box.
This allows REDYTEMP to control pump operations.
Program RedyTemp®'s digital timer (included with all controllers) with unique “day-of-week” hours for each days desired hours up to 20 programs.
This reduces wasteful pumping when home is empty.
Install supplied stainless steel water contacting temperature probe using supplied ½” fitting. Installing nearest last hot water load on hot water circulation loop minimizes system demand. Otherwise, install near existing pump.
This prevents needless heating of pipe beyond last hot water load, saving energy and extending life of both water heater and pump.
Run low voltage wire from temperature probe to controller. (
phone wire acceptable since wire is only to measure resistance within the probe and will NOT carry power)
This allows actual water temperature sensing inside hot water loop. These values are compared to the temperature setting on the controllers temperature dial. The controller will intermittently cycle the pump “as needed” to maintain the chosen temperature dial set point.
For additional convenience
, including scheduled-off single-cycle override / on-demand operation install;Wireless X10 modules for around $15 per hot water usage point. X10 is preferred due to it’s ability to utilize the homes existing power lines to transmit on / off signals. Thereby, eliminating “line of sight” and distance limitations often experienced with other wireless push-button devices.
Doorbell push-button / momentary contact switches at hot water usage point(s). Acquire standard phone cord of length required to reach controller from hot water usage point. Typically 99 cent stores sell 100' ft cords. After running phone cord plug one end into the controllers RJ11 socket located on the front of the controller. At the opposite end of the phone cord cut off the RJ11 connector at the end, strip and connect the two middle wires to the doorbell push-button contacts. Utilizing a 5-to-1 phone adapter makes connecting multiple phone cords simple. This can also be accomplished using X10 wireless controllers
This provides the user with not only a more efficient hot water circulation system but, the ability to activate / override the scheduled-off pump and operate the pump for a single cycle. A single cycle consist of the pump running until temperature matches temperature dial and then stops. The system will not run again until either the button is pressed again or the timer initiates scheduled-on operations.
